1. What frequency does the W110 series readers technology use?

The W110 series readers technology operates at 13.56 MHz.

2. What ISO standards does the W110 series readers technology comply with?

W110 series contactless smart card readers are meeting ISO 14443 type - read only :

  • _MIFARER serial number. The serial number it can read is the factory programmed permanent _32 bit unique serial number. or
  • _Facility code and Identification number ( for 26 bit wiegand format, Facility code : 0~255,
_identification number : 0 ~ 65.535 )programmed in card sector.

3. What is the typical read range of the W110 series readers?

Typically, the read range is 0 ~ 5 cm from the surface of reader to the selected smart card.

4. Can the W110 series readers provide a standard Wiegand output?

Yes. The reader's Wiegand output easily interfaces with most existing Wiegand protocol access control panels.

5. Is it possible to program a 26 bits proximity format into the M8-01 contactless smart card?

Yes. Wiegand data (standard proximity formats : 26 bits proximity format) can be programmed into the cards by Cox or by the customer using an card issuing system. For more information of card issuing system, please contact Cox Control Limited.

6. I am currently using MIFARE cards, but like to use W110 series readers. Can it read data from my current MIFARE cards?

Yes. The W110 series readers can read the 32-bit unique serial number in Sector 0 from MIFARE cards. (The serial number is the factory programmed permanent unique ID number).

7. What kind of keypad format is available for W110 series readers?

W110 series readers (W110-01KX and W110-01FX) is supporting different kind of keypad format. Please refer to Keypad Format document . If your access control system is using special keypad format, Cox will try to match it, please contact Cox Control.

8. How to synchronize the time display in W110-01DX and W110-01FX readers?

Very easy. You can try to cross the Green LED (green color cable) and Red LED (brown color cable) to GND. The second row of display will change from "WELCOME" to Time 00:00:00.

We design the timer for the controller which has two extra relays. The operator should start the relays at 12:00:00 (mid-night) and change the timer to 00:00:00.

9. What kind of information can be show in the display of W110-01DX and W110-01FX readers?

The display of W110-01DX and W110-01FX readers is able to show organization name in the first row and either time, cardholder name, card serial number or programmed ID number. sample as below.

10. What is the operating voltage of W110 series readers?

The operating Voltage range (DC) is 10V DC ~ 15 V DC
Typical current at 12V DC is 80mA (for W110-01MX and W110-01KX readers) and 110mA (for W110-01DX and W110-01FX readers)
